Haiti

Christ Covenant is actively partnering with El Shaddai Ministries to raise up healthy and self-supporting transformational churches in Haiti and in the Haitian communities in the U.S.  There is an active and growing church planting movement in Haiti.  El Shaddai Ministries provides leadership and training for new church planters and oversight of the emerging churches.  In addition, they have begun orphanages, a seminary and a medical clinic to care for the people of Haiti.

Update from our ministry partners at ESMI (July 2010):

Dear Friends,
In his letter to the church in Ephesus, the Apostle Paul writes, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10) The implication here is that we as children of God should step out into bold obedience to that which God has called us to, for if He has called us then He has no doubt prepared us for that very calling. That preparation is the Believer’s source of courage and confidence.

Susie and I have spent the last 20 some odd years being prepared by the Master Craftsman to step out in that very bold obedience for the ministry that He has prepared us for. We have spent these many years wondering if God could be preparing us for something much larger and bolder than we could imagine. We now know what He has been preparing us for and also what He has been preparing for us. It is a giant leap of faith and it is exciting, exhilarating, scary, breathtaking, surprising and comforting all at the same time.

God has finally revealed to us the thing that He has crafted and shaped our lives for. Many of you know that we have been involved with ministry in Haiti through El Shaddai Ministries International (ESMI) since 2001. It has been a blessing to work alongside Pastors Dony and Louis St.Germain and their wives Sharon and Martina and to see God’s amazing plan for Haiti unfold. The ministry continues to grow and that growth has led Dony and Sharon to move from their home in Miami to the city of Jeremie in Haiti. ESMI has begun work on a much larger project to train and equip Haitian ministry leaders; we will tell you more about that as the project moves ahead.

I have now taken on the role of U.S. Field Director of ESMI and will attempt to fill the void left by Dony and Sharon’s move to Haiti. What will Susie and I be doing? The job description is long, but just a few of our duties include:
• Equipping and Coordinating Short Term Mission Teams
• Communicating the vision and calling of ESMI to supporting individuals, churches, and institutions
• Raising awareness of support needs for church construction, Haitian staff and other projects
• Recruiting career missionaries to work with ESMI
• Recruiting teachers and seminary professors to equip our students and pastoral candidates

We have literally hit the ground running, immediately stepping up our level of involvement with Dony and Sharon and trying to help navigate ESMI through this exciting time of growth. This time of growth is also a time of transition and the ESMI team has begun working to see that the transition is managed in a way that brings honor and glory to His name.

As we are led by our Father into this job, we are seeking financial and prayer supporters for our family as well as for the ministry. Would you take a moment and email us to tell how God has called you to support us through monthly, yearly or one-time gifts. My email is adaleaustin@gmail.com. Please feel free to call us as well, we would love to hear from you, our phone number is 704-841-8547. You can send your financial support to: El Shaddai Ministries International, Inc. P.O. Box 811000, Boca Raton, FL 33481-1000. Please mark your checks-Austin Support.

We look forward to having you as part of our full time mission team, there is much Kingdom work to be done in Haiti and we have been blessed and humbled by the many Saints that God has called to come alongside us.

Grace and Peace,
Dale and Susie Austin
