Food and other necessities for the Matthews HELP Center

We are so pleased to announce that our ProjectSHARE ( Serving, Helping, Assisting, Reaching Everywhere) ministry is expanding its reach in our community so that we might be able to serve additional ministries who can use our support through gifts of materials they need for their work. ProjectSHARE provides a simple way for our congregation to learn more about local ministries as well as national and international ministries with local connections that we can bless in many different ways.

July Collection — Joni and Friends
For July, we'll be collecting items to help the Charlotte office of Joni and Friends,* who is working together with local churches and organizations, forming outreach programs throughout the community, and ministering hope and the message of Christ to those who face the daily challenges of life with a disability. We are collecting postage stamps (please put these in an envelope marked "stamps"), square cube tissues, hand sanitizer (squirt/pump bottles), and diaper wipes. Items can be dropped off at the Information Desk in the main lobby any Sunday in July. Thank you for your support!

*Joni Eareckson Tada, the founder and CEO of Joni and Friends International Disability Center, is an international advocate for people with disabilities. A diving accident in 1967 left Joni Eareckson, then 17, a quadriplegic in a wheelchair, without the use of her hands. After two years of rehabilitation, she emerged with new skills and a fresh determination to help others in similar situations.

Matthews HELP Center
Food & basic necessities

NOTE: Even with our new revitalization of ProjectSHARE and serving additional ministries, we will still collect donations every month for the Matthews HELP Center. Our donations of food and basic necessities for families in need who are served by the Matthews HELP Center are proving to be a significant blessing to those in our community who would otherwise go without meals. During the school year, the HELP Center provides food to families in need with their backpack meal program for children who are eligible for free or reduced cost meals at school. Most needed items are in red.
