Abide In Jesus
Let not the lies of the false teachers drive you to despair or distract you from the grace, from the glory of your Lord and Savior. Dwell on your anointing. Let the confession of Christ dwell within you, so dwell in Him.

So no matter who you are, or where you are in the Christian life, John writes to you and he reminds you of who you are – you’re a Christian. You’re not of this world. This is not your home. That empowers us not to love the world.
Though we may wonder how on earth we can show the love of God, John wants us to know we have been made new in Christ and it is His strength, not our own, that will enable us to do this.
He makes the case that the wrath you deserved was already poured out on Himself while hanging on the cross, and the accuser will have nothing left to say.
Where are you walking day by day? John says that if we say we have fellowship with God, if we claim to be Christians but we’re walking in darkness, then we are lying. We’re failing to live out our Christian character. So where does your route go? Where do you find yourself walking?
Our joy, of course, is not complete yet. We are waiting for eternity for that, when we’ll have complete fellowship with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and perfect fellowship with one another. Then when that day comes we will be filled with joy and God’s presence with eternal pleasures at His right hand.
So, Lord Jesus, we come to You now before Your Word. We long to sing the song that angels sing and so we pray that in our hearts You would place the song of the good news of the Gospel during this season, that it might grow, that our hearts might be softened, that our…
Let’s pray. Speak, O Lord, for your servants are listening. We admit we are sometimes hard of hearing, sometimes slow to act, sometimes hard of heart, but we are listening. So speak clearly. Speak to our heads, speak to our hearts. And may we receive the Word with great joy. We ask in Jesus’ name….
