Our Sunday programming in Children’s Ministry is called The Garden. Our littlest ones begin their journey in the Flower Bed, located in the Worship Center. Here, loving team members will plant seeds of truth from God’s Word by loving children well. They will show them that church is a place where they are loved, cared for, and safe. Classes are available during the Sunday School hour, during morning worship, and during evening worship.
The next stop is the Pond, which is located in the B building and includes our Duck and Frog classes. It is a place where preschoolers learn to explore the world God has created. Additionally, our children begin to develop a biblical self-image. This will come through being rooted in the understanding that everything in the Bible is true and they are made in the image of God.
Children on our “Duck” side of the Pond may be dropped off for the entirety of the Sunday School hour and the Worship Service.
Children on our “Frog” side of the Pond will need to be picked up after their Sunday School classes. They will then enjoy worship with their families until the offering. At this time you may escort them to their preschool class.
Finally, the Orchard houses our Elementary aged children. By the work of the Holy Spirit, we see children starting to bear fruit from the seeds that were planted in the Flower Bed and cultivated in the Pond. As they grow developmentally and spiritually, they will be able to take the truths they have been taught and interact with them in such a way that true heart understanding can take place!
Children’s Ministry is working through The Biggest Story Curriculum, based on The Biggest Story Bible Storybook, written by our own pastor, Kevin DeYoung. This will lead us through 104 Old and New Testament scripture lessons that will help children understand God’s plan to redeem the world through His Son, Jesus.
All children from ages two through fifth grade will be learning the same passage of Scripture and Bible narrative each week in age-appropriate ways. This will provide consistency for families and great opportunities for home discipleship. We are so excited to see how this consistent study of God’s Word will help equip our children to be walking in the truth.

Information on Safety and Security
The Children’s Ministry seeks to serve the church by educating children, equipping parents, and engaging volunteers so that the kingdom of God might be glorified. Embedded in each of these values is the responsibility and desire to keep our children safe.
We are constantly evaluating our safety policies and adhering to accepted best practices for churches and schools. We have an extensive CARE Policy (Children and Adults in a Responsible Environment) and every volunteer must be CARE-approved before serving and re-approved every five years. CARE approval includes a background check, reference checks and training. There are always two CARE-approved adults in a classroom.
To ensure children are only picked up by the correct adults, parents check in at our welcome desks and are provided with a unique tag each week, which is presented at pick-up time.
Safety within our rooms is also a high priority, so rooms are cleaned and disinfected and checked weekly to be sure everything is just right for your little one!
