The next stop is The Pond, which is located in the B building.
It is a place where Preschoolers learn to explore the world that God has created. Additionally, our children will begin to understand their place within it. As they hear stories of the Bible being taught, it is our prayer that our children begin to develop a biblical self-image. This will come through being rooted in the understanding that everything in the Bible is true and they are made in the image of God. You will find our Duck and Frog classrooms in the Pond. Scroll below to learn about each of these areas.
Welcome to the Pond: Ducks
Children are assigned to the same class for the 9:00 Sunday School Hour and for the Worship Hour. During both hours, we will be using the Biggest Story Bible Storybook as our framework. It is our prayer that as they hear from the Bible every week, they will sincerely learn that everything in the Bible is true!
A few things you need to know:
- Children on our “Duck” side of the hallway may be dropped off for the entirety of the Sunday School hour and the Worship Service.
- You may check your child in at the electronic check in stations at the CCCM Welcome Center in the North Lobby, in the C building as you drop off elementary students or in the window as you enter the B building. If your child will be attending Sunday School and the worship hour, you can check them in for both classes when you check in for Sunday School. You will still need to sign your child in at their classroom and have your parent receipt to show the teacher at pickup!
- You will need to show your pickup tag EVERY WEEK! Please help our volunteers by following this policy along with them!
- Please let us know if your child is potty training. We want to come alongside you and help you in that important process.
- Please do send a spill proof cup with your child. We do have a snack and spill proof cups make a big difference for our team members.
- Please label EVERYTHING your child brings to class (bags, cups, etc).
- In an effort to keep our children with allergies safe, no outside food will be allowed in the classrooms. Children’s Ministry provides a Chex Cereal mix to the Pond classrooms for snack. This snack is free of the top 8 allergens. If you would prefer that your child not have this snack, please let the volunteers know at drop off and they will make a note.
- We have found that for many children it works well to be picked up after Sunday School and spend some time out of the room to run and play before worship. It is also a great time to take your child into worship with you for the beginning of the service. You will be amazed at what they can learn in there with you!

Information on Safety and Security
The Children’s Ministry seeks to serve the church by educating children, equipping parents, and engaging volunteers so that the kingdom of God might be glorified. Embedded in each of these values is the responsibility and desire to keep our children safe.
We are constantly evaluating our safety policies and adhering to accepted best practices for churches and schools. We have an extensive CARE Policy (Children and Adults in a Responsible Environment) and every volunteer must be CARE-approved before serving and re-approved every five years. CARE approval includes a background check, reference checks and training. There are always two CARE-approved adults in a classroom.
To ensure children are only picked up by the correct adults, parents check in at our welcome desks and are provided with a unique tag each week, which is presented at pick-up time.
Safety within our rooms is also a high priority, so rooms are cleaned and disinfected and checked weekly to be sure everything is just right for your little one!

Welcome to the Pond: Frogs
Children are assigned to the same class for the 9:00 Sunday School Hour and for their class during the Worship Hour. In both hours your children will be learning about who God is and who they are as image bearers as shown to us in Scripture. We will be using the Biggest Story Bible Storybook for our framework.
A few things you need to know:
- You may check your child in at the electronic check in stations at CCCM Welcome Center in the North Lobby, in the C building as you drop off elementary students or in the window as you enter the B Building. If your child will be coming to Sunday School and Frogs’ class during worship, you can check her/him in for both classes when you check in for Sunday School. You will still need to sign your child in at his/her classroom and have your parent receipt to show the teacher at pickup!

- Please be sure to label EVERYTHING your child might bring to class (water bottles, bags, jackets).

In the evenings, your children will be a part of the Building Little Pillars class. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to grow in the foundations of our faith.
