Christ Our Refuge Church | Church Planter
Uganda is a country of very high nominal-Christianity. 85% of the population identifies as Christians, but the vast majority do so on the basis of family affiliation. False teachings such as the prosperity gospel and miracle gospel have distorted the views, especially in Pentecostal and Charismatic churches. Ben is the lead pastor and church planter for Christ Our Refuge Church and the team leader for MTW Uganda. Kim homeschools their five children and serves in the women’s, children’s, and mercy/medical ministry of the church plant.
- Pray for leadership development in Christ Our Refuge Church, that God will raise up godly men to serve as elders and deacons.
- Pray for the Ugandan pastor, Rodgers, who will serve while Ben is away on home assignment for a year.
- Pray for effective discipleship of the members of the church and for the church’s witness in the broader community.
- Pray for good health throughout the year. In 2024, Eva had a life-threatening illness that began by contracting malaria, so pray for the Lord’s protection over her health.
- Pray for preparation, provision and a good transition to home assignment as the Church family plans to be in the U.S. from July 2025-June 2026.
- Pray for their children to have a helpful and constructive experience in the U.S., particularly the oldest three who will enroll in a Christian school for the the first time.
- Pray for the Church family to grow in their love of the Lord and for one another.
