Christ Our Refuge Church | Church Planter
Ben is planting Christ Our Refuge Church (COR) in southern Kampala and also serves on the church planting committee of the Uganda Presbytery for the Reformation Church in East Africa (RCEA). Kim serves in the women’s, children’s, and medical ministries of the church.
While over 80% of people in Uganda identify as Christian, the vast majority of people are either nominal believers or subscribe to the prosperity/miracle gospel. Poverty and unemployment are significant ministry challenges. In the last year, their church received 12 new adult members and baptized five of them. Several of these people came to faith through the ministry of the church.
- Pray for the training and ordination of ruling elders and deacons so they can become an established, self-governing congregation.
- Pray for the training and ordination of pastors in the RCEA to further the planting and growth of gospel- centered, Reformed, and Presbyterian churches in Uganda and East Africa.
- Pray for the process of the church acquiring land and constructing a building in 2024.
