Brussels is the second most cosmopolitan city in the world, with 62% of the population born in a different country or with a migration background. It attracts many international students, due to the affordability of higher education in English. Spiritually, 40% of Brussels is Catholic (only 7% of those attend weekly mass), 31% is secularist, and 23% is Muslim. Evangelicals make up only 1.2%. Belgium and Brussels have a desperate need for more churches and Christian workers! Julian’s church is an International Presbyterian Church (IPC) that meets an urgent need in such a spiritually dark city.
- Pray for the church’s elder training.
- Pray for a Christian Fundamentals class Julian is teaching to a mix of mature and young Christians and non-Christians.
- Pray for the church’s building project: they have decided to purchase a building and are raising 350k for a down payment and renovations to meet their needs.
- Praise that they are currently in a new temporary location that is a bit bigger!
- Pray for their three children, ages three and under. Pray that Julian and Rachel will seek to be intentional in nurturing their children in the ways of the Lord.
- Pray for their marriage, that they will be wise in prioritizing their marriage in the midst of church planting and parenting commitments.
- Pray that they will learn to prioritize their devotion to God and their emotional and spiritual health during this busy season.
