SIM / MTW Japan | Language & culture acquisition phase
Japan is less than 1% Christian, and only 0.2% attend a Protestant church. An estimated 95% of Japanese have not heard the message of the gospel. The intense focus on prosperity, success and perfectionism is breaking down traditional community relationships and values, and many are suffering from alienation, anxiety, and despair. Rich and Susan are currently in the language and culture acquisition phase as they explore and research opportunities for church revitalization through Bible studies, worship nights, youth discipleship, prayer, and by providing administrative support to MTW Japan.
- Pray for the Baes’ language and culture acquisition and for the Japanese church to flourish and thrive.
- Pray for the “youth,” which is anyone under 50 years old, in Japanese churches to be equipped and remain faithful.
- Pray that praise and worship nights in the Baes’ home will encourage believers to continue to live a life of worship.
- Pray for the Bible studies, youth meetings, and prayer times and for the Bae family to abide in the Lord daily and live by faith, not by sight.
- Pray for Rich and Susan to continue to love and grow in their marriage.
- Pray for Maddie, at Wheaton College, as she lives on her own. Pray she will grow in her faith and find help in times of need.
- Pray for Nathan’s classmates to have a desire to attend church and for those relationships to grow.
- Pray for Nathan and Solomon to grow in their faith and partake in missions work and for Nathan as he applies to colleges in the USA.
