Vaughn seeks to evangelize and disciple students in the Columbia area (Benedict College and University of South Carolina). Joni and Vaughn seek to shepherd and train all of the Campus Outreach staff to be equipped for ministry work in the Columbia area and on their six campuses.
The main ministry obstacle on Benedict’s campus is the challenge of integrating students from this Historically Black College (HBCU) into a predominantly white ministry/church. Another obstacle for both USC and Benedict (as well as four other campuses they oversee) is that the cultural climate is increasingly post-Christian, and many students have not grown up in church.
- Pray for Vaughn as he continues seminary at RTS-Charlotte while working full time.
- Pray for wisdom as he navigates how to do these things and family life well, to the glory of God.
- Pray for Joni as she works part-time with CO and oversees all the female staff while also seeking to be a faithful mom and wife.
- Pray for wisdom in managing her time.
- Pray for longevity of the staff on their team and for God to raise up more graduates to come on staff and/or go overseas to give their life to missions.
