Good Friday

by

Good Friday’s worship service is Friday, April 7, at 12:00 pm, in the sanctuary. There are no children’s programs available during the Good Friday worship service. If you are unable to join us in person for any of these worship services, we hope you will join us online for the livestream at christcovenant.org/live.

Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday is on Thursday, April 6, at 7:00 pm, in the sanctuary. Children’s programs are available during the Maundy Thursday worship service for children 4 months – 35 months.

Music Ministry Fall Kick Off

A vibrant music ministry is vital to the life of the church. Please join us as we kick off the fall musical season!

Friday, Aug. 16, 7-8:30 pm: The whole Christ Covenant congregation is invited to come sing favorite hymns and songs, seek the Lord’s blessing on this upcoming season, and hear about a multigenerational vision for music in the church.

Saturday, Aug. 17, 9:30am-4pm: You are invited to join our musicians in one of the following areas as we learn an anthem for Sunday morning and a song for Sunday evening. Please use the signup below to receive all times and music in advance. Plus, we need a head count for food, as lunch will be provided (Please plan to bring a $5.00 donation per lunch to cover lunch.)

Choir: Adult Choir, 8-12th Grade Choir, and 3-7th Grade Choir. If you enjoy singing, come try it out!

Brass and Wind instrumentalists: Open to 9th graders through adult who read music and have experience playing in band, orchestra, or church. Please schedule a brief audition between July 29th and Aug. 8th. Younger exceptions are on a case-by-case basis.

Orchestral String Instrumentalist: Open to 6th graders through adults who read music and have experience playing in orchestra or church. Please schedule a brief audition between July 29th and Aug. 8th. Younger exceptions are on a case-by-case basis.

Those interested in serving as percussionists, pianists, and guitarists or assisting with sound and lights or media please contact the worship office for more information.

Sunday, Aug. 18, 10:45am: Our choirs and orchestra will assist in regular morning worship.

Sunday, Aug. 18, 6-7:00 pm: Nathan George will present a concert with special guests! Dr. Kevin DeYoung will give closing remarks before our choirs and orchestra will present the finale. Ice Cream social following!

Join us Wednesday, August 16, from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, in the Community Life Center (CLC) for food, fellowship, and a hymn sing! Plus, we will preview new music. Each year we look forward to learning contemporary music alongside the classics. The fall is a great time to jump in as we begin to prepare for the Advent season. Auditions begin on August 1 for all orchestral instruments, choirs of all ages, and contemporary instruments. These informal auditions give Pastor Nathan George an opportunity to get to know you, your heart, and your musical interests.

Please join us on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, in the Community Life Center (CLC) for fellowship, food, and to preview music for the upcoming season. The fall is a great time to jump into choir, orchestra, or band as we begin to prepare for the Advent season in December! We will be learning new contemporary music alongside the classics, such as Bach and Handel. All ages are welcome.

Options include orchestra, band, and choirs (children, youth, adult), as well as smaller vocal and instrumental ensembles. For orchestra, adult choir, and band, please schedule an audition. Auditions will begin on August 15. These informal auditions give Pastor Nathan George an opportunity to get to meet you, to get to know you, your heart, and your musical interests.

In addition, youth choirs will begin meeting again! Beginning on Sunday, August 28, the youth choir for grades 8th-12th and the children’s choir for ages 3rd-7th will meet on Sundays from 4:40 pm – 5:45 pm in the worship center rooms 201 and 211. Also beginning on Sunday, August 28, the beginner’s choir for grades kindergarten – 2nd will meet on Sundays during evening worship in the Community Life Center Chapel.

Prayer for our Covenant Children

The pastors and elders of Christ Covenant Church hope you will join us for a special time of prayer for all our children and college students. This special time of prayer will take place at the beginning of the Sunday evening worship service on August 20, 2023. We invite you to pick up and fill out a prayer card and present it to the elders during this time of prayer.

During the school year, our leadership will refer to these cards often as they pray for children, students, and their parents. As always, each request will be handled confidentially.

Prayer cards will be available in the worship center outside all sanctuary doors beginning August 6 and online anytime at https://christcovenant.org/prayer-for-our-covenant-children-2023/.

Worship on Christmas Day

All are invited to join us for morning worship on Sunday, December 25, at 10:45 am on Christmas Day! Please note that children’s programs will not be available on Christmas Day. In addition, we will not have evening worship on Christmas Day.

On New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2023, morning worship will be at 10:45 am and evening worship will be at 6:00 pm. The normal children’s programs for those time will be available.
