Volunteer Opportunities
Christ Covenant is privileged to be served by a Hospitality & Event Planning team who are charged with coordinating two annual church wide events and assisting our ministry staff and volunteers to plan ministry specific events throughout the year. This team is a coordinating body…we need lots of hands-on volunteers to facilitate successful events. If you like to cook, bake, or serve, WE NEED YOU!
Additionally, Christ Covenant has a specific ministry to families of our members who have experienced the loss of a family member. We have found that offering a reception or a meal for the family and close friends following a funeral/memorial service has been particularly significant during this time. If you would like to be available to assist the team coordinating these events, please consider the Bereavement Team opportunity.

BEREAVEMENT TEAM
Christ Covenant has a specific ministry to families of our members who have experienced the loss of a family member. We have found that offering a reception or a meal for the family and close friends following a funeral/memorial service has been particularly significant during this time. In general, this team has a set menu for a family meal and another menu for a family reception. The reason for the set menu is that, typically, the team must arrange for a meal very quickly --- usually within 2 to 3 days. A set menu allows the team to organize quickly around which menu to prepare and how much of each dish is required. Toward that end, the team is responsible to:
- Set the room according to the family’s expressed wishes
- Seated at tables
- Chairs around the edge of the room with mingling space in the middle
- A combination of both
- Prepare and deliver the food ready to serve
- We have a warming oven available for early delivery
- Team members typically prepare tea/coffee and ice
- Serve the family during the meal/reception
- Typically, one or two team members are on site to assist the family as needed
- Clean up following the reception
If you are available to assist with this team, please link to the Bereavement Team sign-up. You will receive an email when the Team is deployed and you can choose to participate in whatever way suits your schedule at that time.
