“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
– 3 John 1:4
Amy is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is a graduate of Covenant College where she majored in elementary education and brings to her role of Director of Children’s Ministry the experience gained as a veteran teacher at Covenant Day School. In addition, Amy has had many years to get to know this ministry as a parent and a volunteer. She and her family have been members of Christ Covenant for more than twenty years.
As Director, Amy is responsible for shepherding children and their families from birth through the 5th grade. Amy’s personal goal is to see this ministry thrive with the kind of enthusiasm and excitement that come when children are being encouraged. She says, “I pray that each child in our ministry would consistently hear the truth in a winsome and engaging way so that they might walk in it all the days of their lives.”
Under Amy’s leadership, Children’s Ministries has been reorganized to better use the gifts of volunteers and staff as they serve a growing number of families. Her staff now includes the Hospitality Coordinator, the Ministry Administrator, the Media & Fellowship Coordinator, the Creativity & Curriculum Coordinator and the Caregiver Ministry Team Co-Coordinators. Their shared vision is to educate children by teaching the Word in an environment that is inviting, compelling, and age-appropriate. They equip parents by partnering with them to encourage the spiritual development of their children and engage volunteers by building relationships, honoring their spiritual gifts, and providing strategic support.
Amy and her husband Bill have been married for 26 years. They are the parents of 4 children – two who are students at Covenant College, and two who are students at Covenant Day School. Their favorite times together revolve around family activities.
