Blair Smith is a native of Toledo, Ohio. He and his family moved to Charlotte in 2016 to join the faculty of Reformed Theological Seminary. At Christ Covenant, Blair serves as the Adult Education Coordinator for Christ Covenant, working with the pastoral and ministry staff coordinating Sunday School curriculum to support the mission of the church: In humble reliance upon the word of God and prayer, we are committed to worshiping God, making disciples, loving one another, and serving the body of Christ.

Blair is responsible for developing a comprehensive and integrative Sunday School curriculum in coordination with the structure and schedule provided by Christ Covenant’s Strategic Vision Plan’s transitional teams. He also oversees the identification and training of teachers and encourages higher participation levels in Sunday School.

Blair is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America and served for more than seven years as the Pastor of Adult Education at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, MD. During his doctoral studies, he also served as a part-time Associate Pastor at Michiana Covenant Presbyterian Church near South Bend, IN, preaching throughout the Great Lakes Presbytery of the PCA and ministering to graduate students at Notre Dame.

Blair graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University. After serving in the mutual funds industry for a few years, he earned a Master of Divinity degree at Reformed Theological Seminary, a Th.M. in theology from Harvard Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Durham University (England). He is married to Lisa and has four children (Ellie, Douglas, Lucy, and Graham). Lisa is the Lower School Nurse at Covenant Day School where their children attend.

Dr. Blair Smith is the Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte.
