Are you new to Christ Covenant Church and looking for a low-time commitment that provides connection to others? If so, consider joining a Connect Group, which is designed to be a lower time commitment option that meets just once per month while still providing the opportunity to build friendships and connections at Christ Covenant.

Connect Groups are potluck supper clubs that meet once per month for a period of three months. Designed to be a vehicle for community building these groups are great for those new to Christ Covenant that are not yet members or that are unable for whatever reason to commit to a small group. Groups are hosted at the homes of various church members. For more information, contact Dave Lapp.

A Connect Group is a short-term supper club fellowship based gathering for those looking to build friendships within the Christ Covenant community.

No. Connect groups are meant to be shorter term gatherings designed to build connections for those that are not currently in small groups.

First, Connect Groups are meant to be shorter term in nature. Secondly, Connect Groups are accessible to non-members/visitors, whereas small groups are for church members. Thirdly, while small groups vary in approach, most will have more content orientations (e.g., a study, times of prayer, etc.). 

Mainly the chance to get to know others and have others get to know you. The groups will be organized around a potluck meal planned/organized by the hosts. Groups may have some icebreaker activities and there may be a small group leader that has an open group that comes and shares a bit about their group.

First, sign up by replying as soon as possible to the invite email (space is limited so it is first come/first served). You will then hear from the host regarding the meal prep and will be asked to contribute something to the meal. From there, just attend and enjoy the opportunity to gather with and get to know others!

No, however, please note that our next official small group signup period will not be until the fall of 2026. 

While we would love to have everyone plugged into a small group that fits their needs when they want to join one, the reality is that we don’t have an unlimited number of groups to accommodate all schedules, seasons of life, geographic, and personality needs. As a result, we encourage those interested in, but not placed in, small groups to explore learning about the different groups and getting a framework for what might be a good fit. Connect groups are a great way to do that.

Not at this time. While we love our covenant children and truly believe that part of really getting to know parents involves getting to know their children, we also recognize that having children present can inhibit some of the initial engagement. As a result, we are not offering childcare and would ask that parents not bring their children to the initial meeting of a Connect Group. After the initial meeting, the group hosts and the groups themselves can decide if they want to offer a childcare option. In the future there may be a Connect Group with childcare, but we have not organized that at this time.
