Wesley & Nicole Marshall

Hope City Presbyterian Church | Church Planter

Observatory, a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa, is an eclectic neighborhood with a mix of young professionals and students from different races, nationalities and cultures. It is increasingly resistant to institutionalized religion, and the presence of postgraduate students and faculty from one of Africa’s top universities leads to progressive thinking, which residents idolize. Wesley is the church planter and pastor of Hope City, part of the Presbyterian and Reformed Church of South Africa (PARCSA), which seeks to faithfully, winsomely, and boldly proclaim the gospel. Nicole is an educator, teaching 11th and 12th grade English.

  • Pray that Hope City Presbyterian Church will be a faithful gospel
presence on the east side of Cape Town.
  • Pray that the Lord will add to their number.
  • Pray that the Lord will help them as they move towards becoming a particularized church with its own officers.
  • Pray that the congregation will engage with their community
    in an authentic, gospel-centered way.
  • Pray that the Lord will grant Wesley and Nicole grace as they disciple their three young covenant children.
  • Pray that God will strengthen their family to engage hospitably and authentically with their church family and with neighbors.
  • Pray that the Lord will provide for their family financially, as the cost of living is rising quite rapidly.
