Member to Member Care
At Christ Covenant, we believe that many spiritual needs can be met through faithful participation in the means of grace and active engagement in small groups, Bible studies, Sunday School and other discipleship settings. Members are encouraged to engage in these settings in order to provide and receive one-another care for spiritual growth and sanctification.
Pastor/Elder Care
Each member at Christ Covenant is assigned a shepherding elder and community pastor. Members are encouraged to reach out to their shepherding elder and/or community pastor when there is an ongoing or urgent need for spiritual care. Once you reach out to your pastor/elder, they will meet with you to assess the need and to establish a care plan. The care plan will involve support and guidance from the pastor/elder along with chosen members of a care team, such as a shepherdess, when needed. A pastoral care plan seeks to provide ongoing care and support for physical, spiritual, or relational issues.
Examples of occasions of when to reach out to your elder or pastor would be (but not limited to):
- Loss of a loved one
- Medical emergency
- Marriage crisis
- Family crisis
- Birth or adoption of a child
- Infertility
- Short-term illness or surgery
- Ongoing trials
- Ongoing personal spiritual distress
Pastoral Counseling
At times, there are issues that require ongoing biblical guidance and greater counseling resources for members. These cases are referred by our pastoral staff and officers to our Pastor of Counseling, Derek Wells. If you or your pastor/elder feel like you need to meet with our Pastor of Counseling, please click on each form below to fill it out. Then, a staff member will contact you.
Formal Counseling and Referrals
Christ Covenant does refer members to local counseling centers when a greater duration of focused care or expertise is needed. Our goal in outside referrals is to partner with Christian counselors in our community in order to ensure adequate care for our members. Referral guide is forthcoming.
Non-members are also welcome to contact counseling centers on the referral list. The referral guide is forthcoming.
