Across North America, Indigenous communities bear deep generational trauma from residential schools and government policies that attempted to erase their culture, language, and identity. There is a deep distrust of Christianity, as churches often supported, or failed to oppose, these harmful systems. In cities like Lethbridge, 80-90% of those experiencing homelessness and addiction are Indigenous. Numerous ministries have entered Indigenous contexts only to withdraw when the work proved slow, complex, or costly – reinforcing patterns of abandonment and mistrust.
Yet Indigenous peoples are resilient and culturally rich, represented by 574 federally recognized tribes in the U.S. and 600+ First Nations communities in Canada. Only about 8% identify as evangelical Christians, highlighting a meaningful opportunity for gospel-centered reconciliation and healing.
Rohan and Rebecca founded URAmazing Ministries to reach Indigenous peoples with the hope of the gospel. For 18 years, they have invested in Bible studies, one-on-one relationships, sports ministry, and children’s and youth outreach. Their long-term presence builds trust, restores hope and demonstrates Christ’s patient, faithful love.

Praise the Lord for drawing Phinehas into deeper faith and a growing desire for full-time ministry. Praise the Lord for Isabel’s upcoming marriage to Kyle in June; pray for God’s blessing on their union. Pray for Abigail in her kinesiology studies, that the Lord would guide her steps and clarify his direction for her future.
