Charlotte YoungLives (a ministry of YoungLife) | Eastside Coordinator
Teen moms and dads often face overwhelming challenges – poverty, broken family structures, lack of support, and limited access to resources – which create barriers to encountering the hope of the gospel. They may feel isolated, burdened with shame, and judged rather than welcomed in faith communities. Transportation, childcare and financial stress make it difficult to engage in spiritual growth opportunities. YoungLives provides a crucial space where teen parents experience God’s love through mentorship, community, and tangible support. Rachel is the Eastside coordinator for YoungLives and is responsible for mentor care and recruitment, hosting parenting classes in high schools, providing a personal ministry to several moms, fundraising, and more. Dave is the Pastor of Disability Ministry at Christ Covenant Church.
- Pray for new moms and dads to learn about the ministry of YoungLives and attend events, so they can hear the good news of Jesus.
- Pray for the dads’ ministry to grow, as it is challenging to keep dads involved if they are no longer dating the moms.
- There is also a need for male mentors, as there are currently no male volunteer leaders. Pray for more men to volunteer.
- Pray for teens to come to know Jesus so they can pass this message of hope on to their children and find more stability in their lives.
- Pray for many girls to sign up for the camps so they can hear about Jesus and grow in their spiritual walk.
